Its been a while since I wrote here, the last blog I mentioned about the Gosford Show. I entered 3 of my paintings but didn't have any luck with selling them. They were viewed by 2,000 people!!! So that is a plus!
I am so loving painting and drawing birds at the moment, and I will post my latest one underneath when finished writing.
I have decided to hold an art show at my home soon, setting my paintings around the garden and in the loungeroom. I received an order of my artworks on gift cards from Redbubble and they are great. I will have some smaller paintings also, stickers & dreamcatchers to sell. I think I will have a nice variety of work for people to look at. I am in the process of making some signs up for the streets around my area and might put an ad in the local paper about it too.
On my art page on fb I decided to draw a portrait of a liker and put it up when finished. Beforehand I told my likers I would be doing it and if its you, say it is and it is yours. It was a lot of fun and had lots of interest. Except the person hasn't seen it yet lol so hopefully she will be online and recognize it soon. I am really happy with the portrait. I think I might do this give away every few months.
My latest painting is of two cockatoos, the reference photos were taken by my husband as we have flocks of them around our house and the noise is crazy at times. I still want to paint the black cockatoos, but won't be able to photograph them as they only fly high and usually in pairs, so will have to google images for them.
The weekend is upon us once again, not sure what I am doing tomorrow, but Sunday as its Mothers Day, my girls are coming over and making me lunch! So I am pretty happy with that and catching up with them. My husband has had a couple of weeks off and is back tomorrow, so he is not a happy chappy! He is happy though because he bought a Triumph motorbike.
We have also been planning my mum & dads 60th wedding anniversay in October this year. Having it at our place is the best option as there is a few grandkids now and its a bit hard taking them to a restaurant. We are going to have a sea food night, so each couple can bring a platter of their choice, make a couple of big salads, crusty bread, some grog and everyone's happy!! Who stays married for 60 years!!!!!!!
Anyways...... its 11.30pm and I will put up my painting and then retire for the night.
Love and Light to everyone of you. Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely mums out there!!!!!
