Hello there Weeblies,

I hope you are all having a great week, its nearly Friday and you are probably looking forward to a couple of days rest and relaxation.

My kookaburra painting flew to Western Australia safely and the owners were very happy with it and is now hanging in their home.  So proud of myself when I sell a painting or portrait, it is the best feeling.

I finished another painting a couple of days ago. It is of five lorikeets amongst yellow grevillea.  I am pretty happy with it. I will put a pic up when I finish writing here.  This one, my other kookaburra and galah paintings will be going into an art competition at the Gosford Regional Show, 4th & 5th May.  I am very excited about that!!

I have been doing another sort of painting this week.... my hubby and I have been making our grandson a toy oven, hotplates and cupboard for him to play with, he is 2  1/2. I found a little toaster, plastic egg carton and utensils to put with it. Will put up a pic also when finished writing. I can't wait till he comes over and watch him play pretend cooking. I bet we will be eating lots of pretend food... over and over and over again hehehe. Love it!!!

I went and saw him today and we were playing outside. He was a racing driver running around in laps, as he was slowing down I had to fill him up with petrol, so..... glug, glug, glug... cap back on and he was off and running again!!! This game went on and on and on... so cute!!!

I am sort of itching to do a graphite portrait soon as its been a while so I am going to suss out some stuff on the net and see what I can find.  I am thinking of something along the lines of an American Indian drawing. I will keep you posted on that.

Love and Light to everyone of you.
Jan xx

Hello Weeblies,

My husband asked me if I had written here lately.... hmmmm no, I said guiltily, not happy Jan!! So I thought about what I had been doing recently and this is what came up!!.........

I purchased some stickers from Redbubble with my artworks on them. They look very cool, even if I do say so myself!!  My grandson has pinched one for his bike and I have a wolf on my car now.  Not sure what to do with them, but I am sure there will be times when I will want to put a sticker on something and think 'oh yeah! I can use mine' They are good quality and the print is nice and bright.

My niece gave me 6 canvases which have photography prints on them. Her boss was throwing them out and she thought I might be able to use them.  So 2 layers of gesso, 2 layers of painting my picture, and 2 layers of matt finish worked a treat..... I painted a sulphur crested cockatoo in amongst bottlebrush, with a bright blue sky, I really like it.
The problem is.... I feel guilty that the canvas is not new, and in two minds about selling it. What if the person held it up to the light and could see the print? What if the person knocked it and the print showed up underneath? What if down the track it started to peel?
What if? What if? So I figure if I don't feel 100 percent to sell something, then its best not to. Then I thought what about if I stated that the canvas is recycled and am selling it for half price if anyone was interested. I came to that conclusion and so be it.  It is hanging in our dining room and to be honest I would be happy to keep it as it is one of my favourite pieces I have done.

You might be saying well what are you going to do with the other 5 canvases? Well I might paint on them over time for family or friends that ask me to paint something for them and I can tell them first about the canvas. Be interesting to know what others felt about this, so if you feel like putting in your thoughts please do so.

Anyways this is the painting I did on my recycled canvas!!!

Another great thing has happened recently!!!! I held an Auction on my Affective Impressions facebook page. The painting was of the 2 kookaburras sitting in a tree, I really liked that painting, it was bright and just made me happy looking at it. Well, I only had 1 bidder, and really that is all you need, saying that it would be awesome to have 10 bidding!!!!  So it is packaged and ready to fly over to Western Australia tomorrow!! It is such a great feeling knowing someone has bought your art and displaying it in their home!!!!

Here is the painting going to WA!!

I feel a whole lot better now I have written a bit about my life and what has been going on in it.

Love and Light to everyone of you.
